Donald Trump – The Money Man and The Money Land
When trying to put a face to the famous and glamorous corporate America; in my eyes, the natural avatar of the capitalistic dream is Donald Trump.
Trump’s approach to U.S politics is by far the most business oriented and pro American approach shown, by this elections candidates. Trump’s bluntness on certain socially charged topics, such as, immigration regulations, drew fire from some of Trump’s business associates. The first — Macy’s, who recently announced that they will no longer carry Trump’s clothing line, due to his public announcement regarding Mexican immigrants. Also Univision the American – Spanish T.V network, announced that they will not be airing Miss USA and Miss Universe pageants (partially owned by Trump), for the same reasons, accusing Trump of using derogatory terms on the matter. Soon to follow were NBCU who were urged to do so by Univision’s chairman and co-founder Felix Sanchez. The list goes on with other known business affiliates and only time will tell what will be of this toss up. Trump; however had filed a $500 Million lawsuit against Univision accusing them of hindering his freedom of speech and threatened to do the same with NBCU. He also publicly thanked all of his supporters who discarded their Macy’s Credit Cards, perhaps causing Macy’s stock to drop a little (-0.45%).
A Business Man To Run A Country
We can say what we want and we will, about Trump’s competence in all aspects of governing, from foreign affairs to national security and all other raising social issues. We can doubt his ability to run this great nation just like we did with all other candidates and we will. However; there is one thing that we must give him credit for — his ability to resurrect a business. If Mr Trump is able to do for our country’s economy, what he did for his own economy we should embrace him. If — as president he will take the same stand he took today against those who stood up against him and apply it against those who stand up against America and its economy, we should desire a president like that. Solving the financial problems that hurt many people in this country will quickly reflect on all other issues. However electing a president is, in a way like marriage, you don’t know your spouse until the wedding is over and the bride and groom go home. We can only hope that recent events gave us a true glimpse on Trump’s policy when it comes to U.S economy and how he might conduct himself with the nation’s economic issues. We can only imagine how thing will look for the credit bureaus, financial institutes and large corps if he decides to take on them. We hope that good things will come out of this coming elections but you can rest assure that nothing will remain the same for the corporate world with Trump being the president.
